What is a Questival and Why it is Brilliant

I’d never heard of the company Cotopaxi until this weekend but I’ll tell you I couldn’t be more impressed.  They make outdoor equipment and products.  Probably best known for their simple backpacks.  But they aren’t your regular company.  They are all about giving back and improving poverty stricken areas.  Well this is nothing really new but Cotopaxi has taken it to the next level by making it extremely cool by not only educating but getting people involved and thinking about how they can help and make a difference.  That is what a Questival is all about.  Finishing Challenges while holding a flag that says DO GOOD!

Their business statement is:     Adventure helps people see the world and drives them to improve it. That’s why we’ve created Cotopaxi—a new outdoor company that funds sustainable poverty alleviation, moves people to do good, and inspires adventure through innovative outdoor products and experiences. Our unique business model enables our grantmaking in developing countries and represents a commitment to sustainable product design and charitable giving.

One of the main grantee companies they support is “Nothing But Nets” which provides treated mosquito nets for people in countries that still are placed with malaria.  Did you know that a person dies every 2 minutes from Malaria – yes even today in the year 2016.  This is a cause anyone can get behind.  $10 sends a net and educates the people on how to use it.

Cotopaxi is hosting a Questival in Salt Lake City this weekend which Jessica and Andrew Young, Katherine and Andrew Sedley are participating in.  It’s a list of challenges that they try to complete in 24 hours.  It’s crazy, fun educational and really gets them out of their everyday bubble.  Their team is “the Space Cats” and they are really going for every challenge and it’s been so fun to watch their pictures and videos along the way.  So how Brilliant is Cotopaxi – getting kids involved and empowering them with the knowledge that they can make a difference – they can change the world and they can be more and do more than they thought possible.  So exciting to see and support!

Go Space Cats and thank you Cotopaxi for opening our eyes to the bigger world around us!
