Andrew and Emma go to Prom

I usually don’t share personal stuff on my blog but these pictures turned out so cute I just had to share.

When I heard the date of Prom I was so disappointed because I knew I would be photographing Hannah and Justin’s wedding at Portola Inn. and wouldn’t be home to  see Andrew and his date.  But the good news is that Portola Inn is very close to my house and so Andrew and Emma walked on up the hill and the timing was perfect for me to slip off and take a few pictures!

I absolutely love her dress!  She got it at H&G Clothing which is an amazing clothing  boutique in San Luis Obispo and it just looked darling on her.

So here’s to High School Prom’s – and to my son Andrew who I have adored for 17 years.  Thank you both for taking a walk so I could see just how darling you looked!

Caitlin and Derek – Engagement Portraits on the Ranch

Caitlin and Derek have spent many a happy hours on this ranch outside of Santa Margarita throughout their dating years and so what a perfect location for their engagement portraits.  We had a beautiful afternoon finding lots of lovely fields, groves of trees, a pond, rock piles and the amazing heart shaped oak tree!

It is so fun to spend time with people that are so much in love!

Greg and Kayla Country Engagement Portraits – North San Luis Obispo County

Kayla and Greg …..what can I say about this engagement session except for WOW!

Sparks fly whenever and wherever these two are together.  Put that together with a fire truck, fields with a Big blue sky, fields with warm soft light, a rustic barn, a John Deere tractor, a tree swing, pink roses, sunsets, a pond with a dock and lovely weeping willows….WOW!

So trying to pick my favorites wasn’t easy and so I gave a little sampling of everything.  What beautiful country we live in here in the Atascadero, Templeton, Paso Robles area.  What amazing  places all around  to take engagement portraits.

I love this coountry dirt road!
As my friend an fellow photographer would say “Sweet Light” Thank You Kayla and Greg for an amazing afternoon together!  Your wedding at The Loading Chute in Creston  is going to be amazing!

Nick and Kristin are Getting Married! Engagment Session in Atascadero and Paso Robles Wine Country

I met Kritin and Nick for the first time at the Sunken Gardens in Atascadero.  This happend to be the place where Nick “popped” the question – so a great place to start!  Immediately I knew we were in for a fun afternoon together.  Kristin was super prepared with darling outfits, accessories and props to add so much personality to each city, country, field or vineyard setting.

Just a few of Kristin and Nick’s Favorite Things….. Vineyards, Oak Trees, Picnics and Traveling……and of course laughing which we did a lot of 🙂

I am so excited for your Travel Themed Wedding at Portola Inn in Atascadero.  If your engagement session was any indication your guests are in for an amazing celebration!

OK I seriously LOVE these Hats!! Until our paths cross again May the Road you Travel Rise up to Meet You.

Baby Lila – Older Newborn Cuteness

Here is the darling little Baby Lila.  I just love her name and her hair and her little mouth and big eyes….OK you get the idea I just fell in love with this little beauty,  Lila was around 6 weeks old when we took these pictures and so we had a little bit more of a challenge on getting her to “mold and hold.”  She was way past that stage and more ready to “move and groove” but as you can see we got some adorable pictures and I love the way we were able to see her gorgeous eyes and yes even a huge SMILE.

I know that those first few weeks after you have a baby are absolutely crazy!  So  I understand why the idea of getting a newborn in for photos within the “magical 14 days” just seems like too much.  Lila is living proof that it is never too late to capture these little ones.  The important thing is that you just “do it”.  For one thing is certain these little ones don’t keep.  Luckily Portraits  do !
