Kelsey and Brian’s Spanish Oaks Ranch Wedding

Congratulations to Kelsey and Brian!  Their wedding was truly a celebration of family and love and the earth seemed to be celebrating right along with us as we were surrounded with wildflowers, daffodils and lush green grasses.

March weather can often be unpredictable here on the Central Coast but Kelsey and Brian’s wedding day was truly blessed.  I had such a wonderful time capturing these two love birds.  They obviously adore each other and I am so happy for their magical start on their life together.

Lindsay and Drew a San Luis Obispo Country Engagement

I was so excited to meet Lindsay and Drew at a family ranch on the outskirts of San Luis Obispo.  These two are so sweet together and as you can see the country setting made for the most dreamy of pictures.  The wind picked up a little only to add to the relaxed, romatic feel of the day.  Add a vintage car, a field of mustard flowers and WOW I was in heaven as a photographer.

Congratulations you two on making each other so happy!  I know your wedding at Portola Inn will be just as dreamy and romantic.

Here is their slideshow!  Enjoy!

Dana’s Senior Portraits at Avila Beach and Gardens- San Luis Obispo, California

Dana lives in Fresno, California but loves to come to the Central Coast beaches with her family. She really wanted to take her senior portraits on the beach and so she found me and scheduled her session during her family vacation at Pismo Beach. What a GREAT IDEA!
I love doing Spring Senior Sessions! (See Below for more why’s and hows on scheduling a Spring Senior Session)
I was super impressed with how prepared Dana was. She bought great outfits, accessories and also some definite ideas of what she wanted. As a photographer I love hearing my client’s ideas and getting to know what they have seen that they like. Together we get some beautiful, unique images that I know the Senior will Love!!
Dana thank you so much for finding me on the web and choosing me as your photographer. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and your family. Also thank you for being willing to get in the sand and cold ocean to make some of these amazing portraits happen! It was definitely worth the numb toes 🙂

YEARBOOK DEADLINES AND WHY A SPRING SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION IS A GREAT IDEA!
Most schools in the San Luis Obispo County have an early yearbook deadline for senior portraits, usually just a few weeks after school starts. So late in the summer there is a huge rush to get senior portraits taken before school starts.
So that is the way it is….. but there are other options!!! Really??? YES

You can have a mini session to get a yearbook picture in time for the deadline OR you can apply to be a model at the end of your Junior year and get a free session and then have your full senior session in the Spring before high school graduation. This also works well if you happen to have braces and would like most of your senior portraits to be taken after your braces come off and you can reveal your new beautiful smile!

Brian and Kelsey are Getting Married!

UNFORTUNATELY Kelsey hurt her knee playing in a Faculty Tag Football game for North County Christian School.

FORTUNATELY Brian was there to carry her off the field

UNFORTUNATELY Kelsey’s knee was hurt pretty bad

FORTUNATELY Brian and her locked eyes and had a “Zing” moment

….. from then on it has just been nothing but good fortune for these two!

It was so fun to photograph Brian and Kelsey on a beautiful but chilly afternoon at Spanish Oaks Ranch in North San Luis Obispo County.  The hills were green and the lake was full and these two were definitely having a great time just being together.

I am so excited to be a part of their wedding next month!  Congratulations you two and now that you have found love I predict lots of good fortune in your future 🙂

Here is a video with some more images from this fun country engagement session.

Andy and Brittany Fairy Tale Wedding at Spanish Oaks Ranch- North San Luis Obispo County California

There are so many intricate and exciting parts of EVERY wedding: flowers, dresses, cakes, venues and OH MY the list can go on and on.  But when all is said and done the most important part of any wedding is the LOVE that is being celebrated.

Andy and Brittany have such a sweet, honest love that is just heart warming!  They found each other early in life and their love just keeps growing and growing.  It doesn’t take long after being around them to see that they know each other so well that they could probably finish each others sentences…..I just love to see people marry their best friend!  I know I did and it was the best decision of my life!

So it was no surprise that their wedding was just like a fairy tale.  Brittany was so beautiful and calm that there were more than a few times when  I felt like I was photographing a princesses.  Andy was happy, relaxed and obviously enjoying the day.

Here are a few highlights but believe me I could have included many more.  Congratulations Mr and Mrs Barksdale! Such a great way to start to your “Happily Ever After”.

Spanish Oaks Ranch is located in Northern San Luis Obispo County and is the perfect setting for a rural country wedding.  The small pond and the large oak trees make for amazing backdrops.  I absolutely love photographing there and it was really fun to photograph a January wedding as the landscape had a completely different look to it.  I now know that your truly can have a beautiful wedding here on the Central Coast of California anytime of year!
And then and only then….after most of the official celebrations were finished……it started to sprinkle….. next thing we knew everyone was dancing in the rain!!  Andy Morris Entertainment kept the party going and the rain just made it epic!
