Jeff and Krystine’s Wedding Celebration

One thing I’ve  learned through the years of wedding photography is that weddings are really all about family.  Of course primary it is about starting a new family and celebrating the love that brought them together and they commit to grow.  But it is also about celebrating the family ties and joining two completely different families together.  It is also about feeling the love and support of family and friends as you start the new chapter as Mr.and Mrs.

Jeff and Krystine are one of the lucky couples that has a very large supportive family network.  Their wedding was held at a beautiful private estate in Santa Margarita owned by Jeff’s aunt and uncle.   The setting was perfect for a spring wedding and it was obvious that everyone was thrilled to be a part of this beautiful celebration.  It was also wonderful how many nieces and nephews were involved in the ceremony.  Everything came together wonderfully resulting in a day full of love and family.

Krystine and Jeff are such a wonderful couple and they really were the center of it all.  Krystine was truly gorgeous and so comfortable in front of the camera and it was sweet to see how she would make Jeff laugh and be silly to help him relax.   These two are so beautiful together.  It was easy to see how they make each other happy.

Congratulations to Jeff and Krystine!  Your day was not only a Celebration of two people who have found love and happiness in each other but also a Celebration of the love found in family and friends.  It is always a pleasure to be surrounded by such loving people and to capture such sweet memories.

May your love continue to Grow and may you live “Happily Ever After”

What is a Questival and Why it is Brilliant

I’d never heard of the company Cotopaxi until this weekend but I’ll tell you I couldn’t be more impressed.  They make outdoor equipment and products.  Probably best known for their simple backpacks.  But they aren’t your regular company.  They are all about giving back and improving poverty stricken areas.  Well this is nothing really new but Cotopaxi has taken it to the next level by making it extremely cool by not only educating but getting people involved and thinking about how they can help and make a difference.  That is what a Questival is all about.  Finishing Challenges while holding a flag that says DO GOOD!

Their business statement is:     Adventure helps people see the world and drives them to improve it. That’s why we’ve created Cotopaxi—a new outdoor company that funds sustainable poverty alleviation, moves people to do good, and inspires adventure through innovative outdoor products and experiences. Our unique business model enables our grantmaking in developing countries and represents a commitment to sustainable product design and charitable giving.

One of the main grantee companies they support is “Nothing But Nets” which provides treated mosquito nets for people in countries that still are placed with malaria.  Did you know that a person dies every 2 minutes from Malaria – yes even today in the year 2016.  This is a cause anyone can get behind.  $10 sends a net and educates the people on how to use it.

Cotopaxi is hosting a Questival in Salt Lake City this weekend which Jessica and Andrew Young, Katherine and Andrew Sedley are participating in.  It’s a list of challenges that they try to complete in 24 hours.  It’s crazy, fun educational and really gets them out of their everyday bubble.  Their team is “the Space Cats” and they are really going for every challenge and it’s been so fun to watch their pictures and videos along the way.  So how Brilliant is Cotopaxi – getting kids involved and empowering them with the knowledge that they can make a difference – they can change the world and they can be more and do more than they thought possible.  So exciting to see and support!

Go Space Cats and thank you Cotopaxi for opening our eyes to the bigger world around us!

Marlin and Toshia Celebrate Love at Harmony, Cambria and San Simeon Beaches

Toshia and Marlin are such a sweet and fun loving couple that I knew their engagement session would be a blast but it tuned out to be over the top amazing.  First off we were having crazy warm beach weather for February.  So it was just a pure pleasure to be on the coast basking in the sunshine and enjoying  light 80 degree breezes.  Another fun aspect was they brought their dog Dice who was so cute and well behaved.  Then the setting and light just kept beckoning.  I was loving what I was seeing and Toshia and Marlin were game to follow me through several different locations.  We started in the quaint town of Harmony and then discovered a  gorgeous locations along the bluffs by Cambria and then the historic San Simeon Cove never disappoints.

I love celebrating love with engagement/couple portrait sessions.  Thank you Toshia and Marlin for sharing this beautiful afternoon with me and for  being so natural and relaxed in front of the camera.  These images are priceless.  I am so very excited about your wedding next month at Cambria Pines Lodge <3

Daniel + Ashleigh’s Wedding at See Canyon Fruit Ranch

The moment I met Ashleigh I knew her wedding was going to be extra lovely and special.  First of all the setting  at See Canyon Fruit Ranch makes for tropical, lush garden loveliness right along side rustic, vintage country.  The combination is a photographers dream.  Secondly Ashleigh’s sense of style and creative vision had me swooning.  But most importantly when I saw Daniel and Ashleigh together I could sense their deep respect and love for each other.  The day was magical, beautiful, festive and romantic.  I’m so happy I could capture these lovely moments.  It was one of those weddings that got me reflecting on my own love story and teary eyed  with the joy of it all.  Yes it may sound a little corny – like a fairy tale but I think all the guests couldn’t help but rejoice in the beauty of their surroundings and the warmth of the love and the magic in the air.

Then to finish their day we headed to Avila Beach and Pirates Cove for some portraits with the beautiful Pacific Ocean as a backdrop.  The sunset wasn’t what we had hoped for but it was still absolutely beautiful and I loved how carefree Dan and Ashleigh were as we actually hiked to a cave!  What a sweet way to end their celebration.  Congratulations Ashleigh and Daniel on finding each other and creating a magical start to your next chapter.

Hair and Makeup by the very talented Jessi CampbellAshleigh and her ladies joined together for a mediation session before her wedding.  I have to say it was an honor to be in the room and feel all that positive energy.  I’m just so sad the the meditation guide doesn’t live local.  She is so gifted, not only at leading one of the most uplifting meditations I’ve witnessed but then she sang during the ceremony and her voice is so pure and heavenly, I truly expected a glow to show up in the photos.

This day was made possible with the amazing coordination of Krysta with Golden Hour Events  and these beautiful China rentals from Botanica Events  The florals were done by the grooms mom Ritva who I know everyone local will be wanting to contact but unfortunately she does not live in our area.
